Drones have damaged a pipeline carrying sulfuric acid in Russia’s Vologda region, Governor Georgy Filimonov announced.
According to his statement, five people suffered burns and were hospitalized in a regional medical facility.
The pipeline is located on the premises of the Ammonia-3 nitrogen complex operated by Apatit JSC. No fire broke out as a result of the incident.
The leak of sulfuric acid from the pipeline was later contained. Air quality measurements showed no exceedance of permissible concentration levels of the substance.
Filimonov added that production buildings were also slightly damaged in the incident.
